The competition was judged by the artist, Lucy Braddell, who said that the standard was very high and it was very difficult to choose a winner. The annual Childminders Christmas Party was held this year in the Axis Centre in Ballymun on December 15. The staff of the Ballymun Partnership also came along with their children. There were also some very special guests!

Pat Carey launches the Childcare Services Audit and Needs Analysis for the Dublin North West Area in the Ballymun Plaza Hotel on the 6th November 2006. The Dublin North West Childcare Resource Centre and the Ballymun Partnership launched the Ballymun Childcare Training Skills Programme this month (Oct'06). Twenty four childcare workers from ten Ballymun childcare facilities began a nine month training course to develop their childcare training skills. Click here to find out more >>

The Ballymun Partnership, CAFTA (Community and Family Training Agency) and the Dublin North West Childcare Resource Centre were successful in their application for Dormant account funding for parenting courses in Ballymun.
This training will be delivered by CAFTA. For further information please contact Ann Brophy, Coordinator of CAFTA, at 883 2134.

The Dublin North West Childcare Resource Centre and the Ballymun Partnerships Childcare Co-ordinator are hosting a parents coffee morning on the first Tuesday of each month (childrens allowance day) for parents to come in for tea/coffee and for information. We also want to hear what parents feel they need in the area and to see if parents wish to join the Ballymun Partnerships Parents Network.
These coffee mornings will in the Childcare Resource Centre, Ballymun Partnership Office, Ballymun Shopping Centre, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. All parents are welcome.

The government announced a new Childcare Investment Programme 2006 - 2010 on 7th December 2005. The Dublin North West Childcare Resource Centre can provide information on the programme.

The Dublin North west Childcare Resource hosted a Christmas party for the Dublin North West area Childminders Network on 15th December 2005. The childminders who are active members of our network enjoyed a lively Christmas party where the childminders and the children they care for enjoyed the day s they were entertained by a balloon modelling clown, refreshments and santa.

The Dublin North West Childcare Resource Centre recently provided training in first aid for children and infants. Six local women attended the training which was provided by Interactive Life Support Training (ILST). The Dublin City Childcare Committee funded this training which was delivered after a request from the participants on the childminders training course facilitated by the Dublin North West Childcare Resource Centre in October 2004. The participants enjoyed the course and recommended the training.
Sinead Dixon (participant and parent) says "this training was invaluable and I feel that all parents, childminders, teachers and childcare workers should receive training. I now feel confident that I know what to do in an emergency".

The Dublin North West Childcare Resource Centre, managed by the Ballymun Partnership and based in the Partnerships premises in the Ballymun Shopping centre, serivices the areas of Ballymun, Finglas, Glasnevin North, Whitehall and Santry. The Childcare Resource Centre is funded by the Dublin City Childcare Committee and, among other things, provides a 'one stop shop' for anyone seeking information on childcare.

Miriam O'Callaghan, the presenter of RTE Current Affairs Programme Primetime, launched the Dublin North-West Childcare Resource Centre at Ballymun Partnership on Friday the 23rd. Miriam, the well known RTE presenter and celebrity Mom, has generously given of her time to launch this new Centre at Ballymun Partnership. One hundred and forty eight adults and children attended the launch. Miriam spoke of the challenges faced by all parents and importance of encouraging children to value education.
