New Childcare Training Skills Programme

The Dublin North West Childcare Resource Centre and the Ballymun Partnership launched the Ballymun Childcare Training Skills Programme this month (Oct '06). Twenty four childcare workers from ten Ballymun childcare facilities began a nine month training course to develop their childcare training skills. The course is funded by the Dormant account funds and follows a training audit conducted by the Dublin North West Childcare Resource Centre on the training needs of childcare workers in the Ballymun area. The National Childrens Nurseries Association designed the training programme tailored to the needs of the childcare workers. Dr Noirin Hayes, Head of Learning in the Dublin Institute of Technology and the Chairperson of youngballymun launched the programme.

As the training programme is free, based in Ballymun and is on evenings and Saturdays to accommodate the workers.
