The parent communication tool Supporting Parents is Supporting Children DVD was launched by Roisin Shortall T.D on October 13th 2008 at the start of National Parents week by in the Ballymun Partnership. The event was attended by local parents, voluntary and statutory agencies.

Minister for State Pat Carey, T.D opened an exhibition in the Atrium, Civic Buildings, Ballymun on Oct 15th 2007 at 12.30pm, of early childhood memories of local parents in Ballymun. Sara Jones, aged 4, is pictured smiling away at the Teddy Bears Picnic which took place in Santry Woods July 1st 2007. Despite the weather many families donned their raincoats and came along to enjoy the activities. The Teddy Bears picnic has become a yearly event the Ballymun Partnership takes part in. For the second year running there was face painting, nature trails, games, hula hoops, skipping, arts and crafts and plenty of old fashion fun . . . click here to read more >>

We can offer you FREE TRAINING in courses such as PAEDIATRIC FIRST AID, CHILDREN FIRST CHILD PROTECTION, and many others. Contact us to ensure your place. In the near future, we are delivering in the Ballymun and Clontarf areas. In the Autumn, we hope to run a FETAC Level 5 module for Childminders. This Summer, Ballymun Partnership Parents Network are hosting a series of "Money Saving Workshops".
Drop in for a chat and fair trade cuppa and get additional information on other issues such as childcare, parenting and play activities for children. Maybe win a free gift!
All the workshops will run from 9:45 to 11:45am. In May there are two on Tuesdays 22nd & 29th. In June the workshops will be held on Wednesdays the 6th, 13th, 20th and 26th and in July on Wednesday 4th.

The annual Childminders Christmas Party was held this year in the Axis Centre in Ballymun on December 15. The staff of the Ballymun Partnership also came along with their children. There were also some very special guests!

The Ballymun Partnership, CAFTA (Community and Family Training Agency) and the Dublin North West Childcare Resource Centre were successful in their application for Dormant account funding for parenting courses in Ballymun.

The Dublin North West Childcare Resource Centre and the Ballymun Partnerships Childcare Co-ordinator are hosting a parents coffee morning on the first Tuesday of each month (childrens allowance day) for parents to come in for tea/coffee and for information. We also want to hear what parents feel they need in the area and to see if parents wish to join the Ballymun Partnerships Parents Network.
These coffee mornings will in the Childcare Resource Centre, Ballymun Partnership Office, Ballymun Shopping Centre, from 11:00am to 1:00pm. All parents are welcome.

The Childcare staff of Ballymun Partnership visited the Pengreen research, development & Training base & Leadership Centre in the UK to attend the conference on Community Leadership in Action: International Perspectives Programme on 11th March 2006. This conference drew on the experience of experts from the UK, Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Portugal.

Des Bishop supported the Ballymun Parents Network on 24th October 2005 in the Axis Centre in Ballymun. Bishop, the well-known TV comedian, who has recently encouraged local Ballymun talent by running local comedy workshops, has given freely of his time to celebrate National Parents Week with the parents of Ballymun.
Des provided lively entertainment & introduced Dr. Vincent Malony the renowned child psychiatrist. Dr Malony has impressed and entertained local parents in the past at the official launch of the Ballymun Partnership Parents Network with his commonsense and entertaining approach to the joys and difficulties of being a parent. Dr. Malony has also generously given of his time to support parents in Ballymun and gave an alternative and insightful view of parents relationships with pre-teens. Eric Lalor and Willie White, two of Des Bishops Ballymun comedic protgs also provided some laughs.
The Parents Network acknowledged the kind support of Dublin City Council, Health Services Executive, Dublin North West Childcare Resource Centre, Ballymun Partnership, Axis Arts team and Breaking Ground.

Miriam O'Callaghan, the presenter of RTE Current Affairs Programme Primetime, launched the Dublin North-West Childcare Resource Centre at Ballymun Partnership on Friday the 23rd. Miriam, the well known RTE presenter and celebrity Mom, has generously given of her time to launch this new Centre at Ballymun Partnership. One hundred and forty eight adults and children attended the launch. Miriam spoke of the challenges faced by all parents and importance of encouraging children to value education.

Brian Kerr, International Manager of the Irish Soccer team officially launched the Ballymun
Partnership Parents Network at the Axis Centre on January 27th 2005. Brian, well known
for his success with the Junior and Senior International soccer teams has generously given of his
