Pat Dunne began her career in Childcare in 1980, starting in Womens Aid as a Childcare Assistant. She then moved to Italy, where she worked as a pre-school teacher in the International Ardeatina Nursery School, and London, where she worked in Barnardos Local Family Resource Centre in Brixton for five years. On her return to Ireland, she set up and managed the Pre-school Services in St Andrews Resource Centre in Pearse Street and St Marys in Haddington Rd. She was also involved in promoting and facilitating the TAP Programme in Trinity College. She completed a B. Sc. in Psychology in Goldsmiths College [The London University] and she is currently finishing her M.Ed. in Higher Education and Research [Guidance Counselling] in Trinity College Dublin.
Pat has also studied Family Therapy, Child Protection and Training Skills for Trainers. In addition, she has a Diploma in Trade Union Studies and represented childcare workers.
