Task Groups

Ballymun Partnership Hotel Employment Group:

Established in summer 2005 to provide support in finding employment opportunities in new and existing hotels located in Ballymun and the surrounding area. The group established a pilot training programme with the support of the NDP and the Ballymun Local Employment Service. This pilot training programme is now underway with 10 participates attending class 20 hours per week. The group plans to collaborate with a number of hotels to development this programme further. As the work of the group grows and develops further information will become available.

  • Engage with state agencies to grow and further develop opportunities.
  • Encourage the proactive participation of state agencies in running this programme.

  • Encourage greater interest for potential employers.
  • Provide information on how local employers, individuals & communities can benefit from locally based employment opportunities.
  • Build relationships between potential employers and training organisation at an early stage.

Goals

    Consider ways to
  • Drive progression to further training and development within the hotel sector.
  • Ensure the hotel and catering sector is considered as a career choice.
  • Demonstrate career progression opportunities.
  • Ensure an available supply of trained individual to take up positions available in local hotels.
  • Grow a relationships between community voluntary and business sectors.
