A delegation of 18 people from Belfast including school principals, full service school co-ordinators and officials from the Northern Ireland Department of Education visited Ballymun on Tuesday, 19th February 2008. The visit was hosted by Ballymun Partnership. In 2005, when Ballymun Partnership, Ballymun Principals Network and Ballymun Primary Healthcare Team were exploring the possibility of establishing the Communities in Schools model in Ballymun, two delegations from Ballymun travelled to Belfast and to New York to visit schools and community based organisations actively working using the Communities in School model.
