Ballymun Whitehall Area Partnership

Ballymun Whitehall Area Partnership is a company limited by guarantee established to address social exclusion in Ballymun, Whitehall & Ballygall. It is registered as a charity with the Irish tax authorities, reference number CHY 11441.

The Partnership is funded by the Irish Government to implement the Local Development Social Inclusion Programme to address education, employment, childcare, enterprise and community development issues in it's catchment area for designated target groups.

The Partnership is funded by Government to operate the Local Employment Services in Ballymun, Whitehall & Ballygall. It is also funded by Dublin City Childcare Committee to operate the North West Dublin Childcare Resource Centre.

Its activities are governed by a voluntary Board with very broad membership of twenty three directors drawn from State Agencies, Community representatives, Employer and Trade Union representatives and locally elected politicians.

The activities of the Partnership are overseen by 68 volunteer members of thematic working groups which meet monthly. There are workings groups for Education, Childcare, Community Development and Economic Development with membership from most local organisations.

All the Partnership activities are subject to detailed written guidelines covering policy, procedure and financial management. In addition to independent financial auditing the Partnership is subject to Internal Audits by Government, Funders and the EU on whose behalf it has operated a number of programmes.

The Board is chaired by Damian Drumm, Executive Manager, Area Manager, Dublin North West Area, Dublin City Council. The membership of the Board is made up of twenty three voluntary directors including the Dublin City Council Area Manager for North West Dublin, the Managing Director of Ballymun Regeneration, the three elected local Councillors, representatives of the State Training Agency, the Health Board, the Department of Social & Family Affairs, the Irish Congress of Trade Unions, the Drugs Taskforce, the Ballymun Youth Resource Centre, the Irish Employers Organisation, the Ballymun Job Centre and community representatives.
