Local Businesses Looking after the Local Business Environment
New Business Forum
Robert Murphy, owner and manager of SUPERVALU Ballymun, has been involved in the Ballymun Tidy Towns Project for a number of years. In this role, Robert has visited and monitored the Temple Bar project and the Business Improvement District (BID) in Dublin. This prompted him to assess the situation amongst local business owners and managers in the Ballymun area.
Local businesses informed Robert that they could be doing more to promote a pro business environment. With this in mind, Robert made contact with the North Dublin Chamber of Commerce, Ballymun Whitehall Area Partnership and NorDubCo for some help. These Partners are now working with Robert to firmly establish the Ballymun4Business Forum. An initial meeting was held in the Partnership Office in June, and there was very positive feedback from the businesses who attended, which included; Travelodge Ballymun, Ballymun Shopping Centre Management, Angel Healing Ballymun Shopping Centre, Edward McManus Pharmacy and the Rediscovery Centre, to name but a few.
In order for the Forum to develop its pro business strategy, we need to understand the core needs of local business. The size of your business or the number of people you employ is not relevant but your input and your voice to help improve the local business environment is. Any local business owners and/or managers interested in participating in the Forum are encouraged to attend a facilitated breakfast session:-
