Ballymun Fairtrade Fortnight 2010

For this year's Fairtrade Fortnight we want people in Ireland to join us in the BIG SWAP!

For last year's Fairtrade Fortnight 36 thousand people in Ireland got involved in banana eating all around the country! For this year's Fairtrade Fortnight we are going to make it easier than ever to get as many people as possible to thinking about buying Fairtrade.

We will be asking people to join the BIG SWAP, so swap your usual tea for Fairtrade tea, swap your bananas, chocolate, confectionery, t-shirts and wine for Fairtrade ones!

This year's campaign is focusing on tea. We are asking the nation to swap their cuppa for a Fairtrade cuppa. From converting your granny to hosting a teas party, there are so many ways to encourage people to swap their precious brew.

Ballymun Fairtrade Towns steering group would like to encourage people to support the upcoming local events.

  • Fairtrade tasting & promotion in Supervalu, Ballymun, 23rd February from 10:30am – 12:30pm
  • Fairtrade coffee morning - Coultry Neighbourhood Centre, 23rd February from 11am - 12pm
  • Fairtrade coffee morning - Poppintree Community Centre, 25th February from 11am - 12pm
  • Fairtrade coffee morning – Solas Development Centre, 190 Sillogue Rd, 3rd March from 10:30am - 1pm
  • Fairtrade goodies and entertainment at Farmers Market on 4th March

Get involved by swapping your usual stuff for Fairtrade stuff.

The more ways you can help us to get people tea swapping the better. Each swap will be proof that people in Ireland (& Ballymun!) want a better deal for producers in developing countries.
