Book Exchange celebrated its first birthday on February 4th. Many people came out to celebrate this wonderful event. For those who are new to Book Exchange, the idea behind Book Exchange is to bring a book and exchange it for another for FREE! Once again, there were many books to choose from. We even had a new section of all Irish novels!
This month, Christina, Paula and Sonia from the Ballymun Community Law Centre spoke to some of the many people in attendance and gave them information on the new courses they are running this year. For more information on legal issues or on legal education courses, contact Paula McCann on 01-8625805.
As you may be aware, we are providing free books to help promote more reading in the community. To add to this, Clodagh from Ballymun Public Library was there to invite people to join the library, should they run out of books during the month!
Every party needs a birthday cake! Luckily, St. Margaret’s Women’s Group had organised a cake sale to raise money for the victims of the Haiti earthquake. The sale was tremendously successful and no doubt the people of the area settled down that evening to doubly indulge in a good book and a slice of cake.
