This task group was set up in March 2006 to explore the possibilities for raising local awareness of the many education success stories in Ballymun and the various quality education programmes and courses available in Ballymun.
The group is planning a Learning Promotion Campaign for Autumn 2006 and has already begun to prepare for this campaign by initiating Ballymun Education for Generations Initiative.
The idea behind Ballymun Education for Generations Initiative is to ask people young and old, individuals and groups to write to Ballymun Partnership about a learning experience that they have had. In other words we are collecting positive learning stories from Ballymun people. We will then use these stories as a core part of our learning promotion campaign; for example by inviting learners to a Celebration of Learning event in Autumn 2006 and by publishing their stories in local newspapers and magazines.
